Behind the Business
About the Owner
I grew up on a small farm in northern Wisconsin with my parents and three siblings. We didn’t have internet or cable—just a lot of time outside working hard. That kind of upbringing taught me the value of hard work, personal responsibility and doing things the right way — valuable lessons that have shaped me as a individual and professional.
After earning my Psychology degree from UW-Milwaukee in 2016, I stepped into the world of staffing and quickly realized how much I loved it. Helping people find meaningful work and watching businesses grow through the right hires gave me a sense of purpose I hadn’t expected.
In 2019, my husband Toby and I made Wausau our home, and a few years later, I launched Halcyon Staffing with a fresh perspective on how hiring should be done. I wanted to go beyond simply filling positions—to create a process that’s personal, partnership-focused, and built for long-term success—for both the businesses I work with and the people they bring on board.
At the heart of it all is my family—my husband Toby and our two amazing kids, Amaya and Preston. They are my greatest motivation and the reason I strive to create a life that blends purpose, presence, and impact. Balancing motherhood, marriage, and business ownership isn’t always easy, but it’s deeply fulfilling. I’m grateful every day for the opportunity to do what I love—building real partnerships, helping others find meaningful work, and supporting success that lasts well beyond the hire.
